Yes, It's official. Alan is... "Looking for Love"

CupidHello, and welcome to my "Alan2go64" web page, which exists purely to provide more detailed information about me, for any Ladies that may be interesting in seeing if I may be a suitable partner for them. My rational for providing this additional information, is because the dating site that I am registered with, only has limited space for typing information, and so it only really contains a "summary" of me. Oh, and I have used the same name on that dating site too!

Are you wondering how I came up with the nickname Alan2go64? Well, I wanted the name to reflect my real name, and the year I was born in (so you know my age), and then the middle bit needed to be short and sweet, indicate that I was ready for a relationship, and when all put together, it had to be unique so that internet searches would find me easily.

My Details:

Age: 45 (born in October)
Star Sign: Libra Libra
Location: City: Perth, Western Australia
Suburb: Marangaroo, about 15K north of city centre.
I would prefer a partner who also lives North of the River.
I have my own 4 x 2 house, with double garage, ducted air con, home cinema etc.
Email: That's easy! Just use my nickname "at" pps.net.au
I welcome your email, and I ask that you include your photo please.
Height: 178cm or 5'10" in the old scale!
Body type: Slim to average. I look after myself, and weigh 76Kgs. I walk regularly and do crunches to make sure my tummy stays close to flat!
Smoking: Never!
Status: Divorced
Kids: Yes, I have 2 daughters, aged 15 and 17, who stay with me 6 nights per fortnight. They are fantastic kids and I am very proud of them. My eldest has her own car, and so they are very independent.
Want Kids: I have had a little snip, so that wont be happening!
But more than happy to find a partner who has her own kids, and I would love them like my own.
Personality: Initially, I may come across a little quiet, but it does not take me too long to get warmed up, and then the conversation just flows and flows...
Nationality: Australian
Drinking: I like a nice glass of red or white wine with dinner, perhaps 2 or 3 times a week. I also like to have the odd Canadian club & dry, Champaign, or even a glass of Port after dinner. I enjoy cocktail parties, but it's been years since I went to one!
Diet: I eat healthy, and try to avoid fatty foods, and moderate the carbs. I like all cuisines, including spicy Thai or Indian, and I actually enjoy a bit of cooking too! I really enjoy going out and sampling new restaurants and cafes from the Entertainment book.
Pets: I don't currently have any pets, but I do enjoy them, especially dogs. I am a bit of an animal lover, and really enjoy all pets, and especially like seeing animals in their natural habitat... in the wild.
Education: I went right through Scarborough High school, did a year and a half at Uni of WA, then began working in I.T. and completed a Certificate in Microcomputer Technology at TAFE (night school).
Occupation: I own and run a small I.T. business, employing 5 staff, and have been since 1993. I guess that makes me a successful businessman... as that's a long time, and I survived the recession!
About me: I am young-at-heart, fun loving, affectionate & caring... searching for my soul mate to settle down and enjoy life's journey with. Could you be the one? I keep healthy by eating well, and by walking. I am definitely NOT a couch potato, but I also do know how to have a lazy day occasionally. I am organised, punctual, logical, motivated, adventurous, spontaneous and some say I have a good sense of humour. I like to get away, anything from overseas trips, to weekends in the country, to long road trips. I have seen most of Australia, but happy to go again if you would like to see some sites! I have done a bit of overseas travel, mainly Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali etc), and New Zealand, but really keen to set my sights on America and Europe, in the not-to-distant future!
My Goal: My goal is to find my soul mate & long term partner. I am genuinely looking for "the one" and am not interested in short term relationships or flings. I desire the love and companionship someone special, to share life's journey with. I believe that when I find the right person, the relationship should develop naturally... it should be easy rather than hard work, and we should be happy and content spending time together, being ourselves, and not having to walk of eggshells.
Relationship History: I have been in relationships for most of my adult life. I was with my ex-wife for 21 years, until she left me in 2006. After that, I spent a year sorting myself out, buying a house, and proved that I can be independent and happy as a single person. In 2007 I registered with an internet dating site and met a lady who I dated for over 2 years, before we decided that we were not compatible enough and so ended it in early 2009. After several months of being single again, and am ready to embark on this quest to find my soul mate, but this time, as you can see, I am being much more thorough. I really am looking for someone who is very compatible to me. My baggage is dealt with (divorced, parenting orders in place) and so I hope to find a partner who has hers sorted too!
My Morals: I feel that I have many good qualities to offer... loyalty, respect, honesty, devotion, ambition. I am caring, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, thoughtful, genuine, easy going, a good listener & rarely get flustered. I have a positive outlook on life. I feel that relationships need honesty, communication, laughter, chemistry / desire, compromise, & understanding. Your partner should also be your best friend. Although I can be serious when required, I try not to take life too seriously. I am looking for a lady who has similar qualities. I believe in treating people how I like to be treaded. I like to spend time with my partner, and do not need a lot of time to myself. I am NOT the kind of guy that goes off with his mates. Because I do like to spend evenings and weekends with my partner, I am sorry to say that shift workers just wont work with me. (my ex-wife was a shift worker)
Romance: I like romance... dining out, candle lit dinners at home, buying flowers for my lady, opening the door for her, random text messages in the day just to tell her that I am thinking of her etc etc. Despite my age, I am quite affectionate as I still enjoy holding hands, kissing, cuddling, and being intimate, and I am looking for a partner who feels the same way. I like to fall asleep with my arms around my partner, and I have been told that I am very warm, so you wont need your electric blanket any more!  I am a fairly sensitive guy... I guess you could say I am a SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy). My friends say that I wear my heart on my sleeve (I hope that's a good thing!). I am a good communicator and able to express my feelings very well. I am also quite thoughtful, and can often read my partners feelings. I love celebrating Valentines day, Anniversaries, Birthdays etc. I like to think that I am a Gentleman, and know how to treat a lady. I believe in (and try to practise) Chivalry.
My Lady: What am I looking for in a partner? I am looking for a lady who is down to earth, easy going, sweet natured, thoughtful, caring, takes pride in her appearance / her physique. Most importantly, I desire a lady who can communicate very well, and can openly express her feelings, who is level headed and does not get flustered easily, who can hold an intelligent conversation. I don't like mind games, aggressiveness, laziness, messiness. I guess what I am saying is that I am looking for someone with similar traits as me (as detailed above in "My Morals"). I look for a partner who has a positive outlook, and who is able to work through life's challenges as partners.
Music: I love music! Anything from the 80's to current. Some of my favourite artists include... Eagles, Fleetwood mac, Dire Straits, Crowded house, Corrs, U2, Coldplay, Pete Murray, Alex Lloyd, Chris Isaak. I often tune in FM 94.5 in the car, but I would be happy to listen to your favourite tunes too, as I enjoy a wide variety! I really enjoy watching music DVD's & concerts up nice and loud on my home cinema.
Reading: I don't do a lot, but when I do, I like to read the odd lifestyle / travel / outdoors / home improvements magazine, and the weekend paper, usually accompanied by a coffee!
Movies & TV: I love going to the movies & watching DVD's on my home cinema. Some of my favourite movies are... Something about Mary, Dances with Wolves, Ace Ventura, Gran Torino, Bi-centennial man, Shawshank redemption, Green Mile, Grand Torino, Da Vinci Code. In summer, I enjoy going to the Galaxy drive-ins, which is the last remaining drive-in in Perth. Some of my favourite actors include... Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Anthony Hopkins, Hugh Grant, Cameron Diaz, Will Smith. I don't watch TV very regularly, but some series that I like are... Two & a half men, Master Chef, Bones, oh and Australia's Funniest Home videos for a laugh!
Sport: I don't actually play any team sports. But I love keeping active and healthy by walking, be it suburban, beach or bush-walking. I also enjoy cycling, kayaking, tennis, table tennis, swimming, boating, snorkelling, horse-riding, but do most of these quite rarely these days (but would love to do more - care to join me). Occasionally watch channel "one" on TV for sports like F1, tennis, Olympics, or athletics.
Other interests: Quiet nights in with a bottle of wine and a DVD. Planning holiday destinations. I like trying new restaurants from the entertainment book, wine tasting, cappuccinos, massage (I am told that I am very good at massage), swimming, waterfalls, cinema / drive-ins, wood-fired pizza, crabbing at Mandurah in my boat (my folks have a holiday house in Mandurah), Ice-cream, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, fish & chips on the beach, spending time with my kids. I like Nature... landscapes, lookouts, sunsets, ocean views, fresh air. Holidays down south or up north or overseas, from 5 star down to basic cabins. Would like to hook a caravan up to my car & head for the sunset. I drive a nice comfy 2008 Kia Sorento 4WD, and I don't mind taking it off road occasionally. I find my car's "4WD" mode handy to get down to remote beaches or scenic secluded river banks down south. I used to do some camping, so if sleeping in a tent is something you enjoy, then I would be happy to dust off the tent for you. I love Dining out, fine dining, fine wine / wine tasting, quite nights in, open fire-places, picnics, markets, entertaining at home / BBQ's with friends.
