Tape backups are often unreliable due to having lots of moving parts... tape drive heads get dirty, the mechanisims wear out, and the tapes wear out too. Replacing the tape drive every few years, and the tapes even more frequently can be very expensive. To be totally secure, you also need to rotate storage of tapes off site, just in case the office gets robbed, or is damaged by fire, floods or other issues.

PPS Online Backup uses an industry strength product called DataKeeper. Backups are programmed to run overnight, driven by a small client program that is installed on the server. As most ISP's do not count outbound data towards your monthly quota, there is usually almost no impact on your monthly quotas.

The price for the service is as follows...

If you host your emails on your server with Microsoft Exchange Server, you can also opt for additional backups of the email messages. (Although the entire information store is backed up as part of the main data, this additional email message backup is needed if ever you want to resotre invididual mail boxes. You can opt to just include your more critical mailboxes). Cost is $2.80 inc gst per mailbox per month.
